Project Overview
Family Laundry – Ridgefield is a 2,800-square-foot adaptive reuse project that transformed a former commercial bank into a modern, high-capacity self-service laundromat. The complete interior buildout included the removal of the existing bank interior, installation of new electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems, commercial laundry equipment, interior framing, drywall, and premium architectural finishes.
Working closely with the owner from concept through completion, Art of Construction optimized the facility layout to maximize equipment capacity, customer flow, and operational efficiency. The design thoughtfully incorporated several existing architectural features, including repurposing the bank vault into a private office, restoring and repainting the original wood ceiling, and retrofitting the existing light fixtures with energy-efficient LED panels.
The completed facility features 40 commercial washers and 26 stack dryers within a bright, open floor plan highlighted by high ceilings, expansive storefront windows, custom tile finishes, spacious folding stations, and modern customer amenities. The result is a welcoming, high-performance laundromat that combines operational efficiency with a distinctive brand identity.
Family Laundry showcases Art of Construction’s ability to transform unconventional commercial spaces into durable, thoughtfully designed laundromats that deliver lasting value for owners and an elevated experience for customers.
